Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Small scab

Crumpet

Young Bun
Hi All!

Just wanting a little bit of guidance. Marble has a small scab in between her shoulder blades, she is not itching and it doesn't seem to be bothering her. She will be going to the vets for her first visit in the next couple of weeks for her injections but is this something I should be more worried about?

She is an indoor bunny and is kept separate from the other 2.

Hiya Crumpet

It looks like a little nip to me??

Could anyone have done that?

Hi!

Not that I'm aware of, I haven't attempted any bonding yet due to needing tink here spayed when she's a bit older as she's only 13 weeks, the only thing I think it could be is if she has snagged herself on something.

I just wanted a second opinion incase it were mites or something more sinister. She only has the one spot and like I say, it doesn't seem to be irritating her.

I have her booked in at the vets a week on Saturday for her first jabs and a general health check but I wasn't sure if it looked suspect to take her sooner.

Thanks for your comment x

It could possibly be mites - can you see any 'dandruff' in the fur at all?
