  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Some vibes for Rolo please

Rolo hasn't been himself today - I've had to hand feed him all day and he hasn't really taken much so it was an emergency visit to the vet this evening.

She was very thorough and checked him all over, gave him a shot of metacloprymide (?), teeth were ok, tummy felt fine, no blockage.

Anyway, we came home and he's eaten a couple of grapes - not the healthiest I know but he ate them without being coaxed so hopefully he'll be ok now but some lovely RU vibes for continued eating would be so much appreciated.

Thanks xx

Lots of vibes for the lovely Rolo.

Tessie refused her pellets recently and lay all stretched out. I massaged her belly (which she loathed) and gave her bramble leaves to eat, had to pick loads so all of them could have some. Snowflake was looking sorry for himself by then too and wouldnt touch pellets or hay. Luckily they both had some brambles oh and corriander.

All is fine now. I very much hope that the grapes are the start of a happily eating Rolo.

He's eaten a bit and pooped overnight so obviously that's a good sign. He's now eating a little bit of dried dandelion but he doesn't seem to want his nuggets yet. I'll be monitoring him closely but I am hoping that he's ok now.

Thanks everyone from me and Rolo xx

Is he drinking ? Getting fluids into him is very important to try to rehydrate his gut contents.
