Brown patches on back of ears? Help? [Pictures]

Hey! I'm new here, so hello to everybody :D I have just adopted my bunny Theodore about 5days ago now.

I've just noticed he has a tiny dark patch on the back of each ear, it looks dark, maybe dried blood? I have attached some pictures. Sorry about the size..

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas what it could be? I though over grooming? Not sure though! :)
Insides of the ear are clean...

Thanks :D

 Does he live by himself, and is he neutered?

I wondered if he was maybe spraying pee, and some of it was getting on him? I had a bun who used to do that. Used to get it all down his back

Or, is it just on the skin? And is it new?

Sorry for all the questions.

Hey! Thanks for the reply :)

Yes, lives by himself and isn't neutered although he doesn't spray yet & hope to get him neutered soon... It's just on the skin on both ears? I haven't seen anything like it before with my past bunnies?

Still not really sure what it could be!

:(

Hmmm, my wee Smudge had similar patches, but inside his ears. they were caused by ear mites..?

Other than that suggestion, i have no idea?

Good luck

Thanks Fee!

Although, I've just taken some cotton wool, boiled some water & let it cool and cleaned the ear. I think weedug was right! Looks like it's just come off? I think he may have flicked some urine onto his ears? Silly bunny.

Thanks for your help though guys, really appreciate it. :)
