Does anyone have any experience with the very start of pasturella and the possible early symptoms? I was all ready to bond my M-F pair to my new F (now all healed from spaying) and my OH noticed that my male was making some odd snuffling noises when eating (only when eating). This was last saturday. Otherwise he was fine. Took him to the vet at the start of the week and she examined his face/teeth/nose/paws etc - no discharge from his nose or eyes and no wet front paws. She gave me metacam for a few days rather than anti-biotics and although he sneezed once yesterday (which could have been hay/fur or anything I'm now paranoid) he still seems fine and no discharge. The snuffling seems to have gone (finished the metacam 2 days ago).
Obviously I want to make sure he is 100% before attempting any bonding so I will wait until I get the all clear from the vet but just wondered if this sounded like the start of pasturella to anyone who has had rabbits with it?
It's a shame as I had put this weekend aside for bonding - keen to get going with it (but not at the expense of their health) because my male is bullying his current partner and she is getting more and more nervous and hiding from him. Hoping the third bun will change the group dynamics.
Long winded sorry but love to hear your experiences. Thanks
