Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Myx / VHD jabi, can a rabbit OD?

Hi All

I have as of Saturday given a gorgeous girlie a forever home & I plan to bond her with Shadow once he has been neutrued (next week)

I was told by her previous owner her Myxi / VHD was "due"

Can a bunny OD on this jab does anyone know?

I will be calling my vet today when I get a chance, I was just wondering :thumb:

I will introduce her in the pictures forum

She has been spayed & really well looked after

As far as I am aware they can not od on the vaccines.
Rescues vaccinate new arrivals when they come in and they dont know if they are already vaccinated.
Jimby had two Lapinjects in the space of a few months.

You know what that didn't even occur to me, doh of course I would have thought it's better to just give if unsure!

Thank you xx

Her previous owner really should have given you the vaccination card, so you'd know where you were, but, yes, better to be on the safe side and give the booster.

Mine don't have cards anymore, giving her the benefit of the doubt I am presuming she doesn't either :thumb: :D

I was just so pleased she asked me and didn't go down another route
