The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Eating fecal pellets??

smudgiebun

Alpha Buck
I know bunnies will eat their cecotropes but Chewie lately has been eating his actual fecal pellets. Both rabbits are usually very good at keeping poops in their litter box, with only the odd poo around the house.

But two times today we've caught him eating his own fecal poos, and just now he was actually sat on arond 5 or 6 of them (this kind of pooing is always in the litter tray).

The only thing different is that he's had some fenugreek crunchies this past week. Not a lot, maybe one a day. I heard it stimulates appetite tho.

Anyone elses bunny do this??

my bun is interested in the hard poops and nibbles at them but doesnt eat the whole thing. it could be another one of the buns poops for all i kno nd shes just smelling it, do u hav other buns?

edit: just reread nd realised u do  are u sure it was his poop he was eating? cos as my buns are currently separated they are obsessed with each others poops, dunno if thats hygenic but theyre all healthy and up to date on vaccines which is the important thing :D

Actually yeah he wasn't really fully eating them, just nibbling and breaking them all up, but very intently!

I THINK it's his poops... only because when I nudged him out of the way he was sat on a load of them.

Nothing too unusual for him - he is a little skittish still anyway, and gets nervous about noises outside! But apart from that he's been binkying and doing laps of the living room as per usual.

He's not actually had an other "poo episode" since I made that post either. I think he's decided hay tastes better
