Hi everyone,
Just wondering if sometimes bunnies get a bad tummy for no reason? Ludo (4.5 months old) had two days of leaving lots of caecotrophs lying around. I'd previously only ever found one in the whole time he's been with us...(Mum was too generous with the spring greens!) I kept an eye on him and he was eating hay and his care plus junior pellets normally. He hadn't had any treats or anything else in the 24 hours before.
Then, just as suddenly as it happened he went back to normal again and I'm not finding them...
Does this just happen sometimes? I have no experience of young bunnies, Harry was old and very sensitive so I was used to finding them- it was an ongoing battle with him because he was rescued and hadn't been fed properly before then and getting him to eat hay was a battle.
My only other thought is that he hid some savoy cabbage under his bedding hay a couple of days ago which I missed when I cleaned him out and maybe he ate it when it was passed its best? There was a slight odour of it after he'd pooed... but he didn't have much to start with.
Any ideas? Or just one of those things?
Thanks
