Eating droppings

TheoBailey

Young Bun
We have a 11 month old female Netherland dwarf. This morning I caught her eating her old droppings. Not cecotropes, not eating from her bum, but she was eating from a wee pile of droppings she had done previously. Is this normal, or healthy?

My experience of that is that bunnies will do it when they are feeling under the weather or don't have enough food available to them to eat (not saying you're starving her or anything, but if she doesn't like or can't eat the hay, for example, her droppings would be the next best option).

I would say a vet check would be sensible.
