Snowy
Wise Old Thumper
We lost our gorgeous girl yesterday and we are devastated, she was just so beautiful and we loved her very much but sadly nothing else could be done for her
We offered Krispy Kreme a home after she was rescued by Furry Friends in Surrey along with her sisters who sadly died as they all had genetic problems, she came to live with us 14 months ago, she had mammory tumours and was ‘terminal’ but we wanted to give her a home and she settled in well, we took her to the vets to see if there was anything we could do and to have her neutered, unfortunately she did not react well to the GA and after having one on the worst tumours removed was brought round from the GA and she was unable to be neutered
We took her a specialist to see if there was anything else that could be done for her but there wasn’t and so we made her as comfortable as possible and she was around the other bunnies and so she had company, she loved being out in the garden with all the others
Sadly in recent weeks KK had become a bit quiet but was eating well and was still socialising with the other bunnies, we took her to the vets on Friday because one of her tumours looked to be bigger than normal, we decided a course of treatment but we were told not to hold out too much hope, by Saturday morning KK’s breathing was being affected and the tumour was a lot bigger, we took her straight back the vet and we were told that nothing else could be done for her and so we made the difficult decision to help her to the Bridge
We were not prepared for the post mortem results, KK had cancer of the uterus, cancer of the lungs and her kidney was encased on a lump of fat the size of a lemon which had grown through a hernia and was in her chest cavity, the vet is sure she was born like that, she had other minor internal deformaties.
Krispy Kreme was an absolute sweetheart and we miss her terribly, she was never any trouble to us and she never complained about any of her medication or treatment, I am so pleased she came to live with us and to share the remainder of her life with us, thank you to Furry Friends for allowing us to take care of her, it has been an absolute pleasure, I just wish we could have made her better
KK, we love and miss you very much, binky free at the bridge and have fun when you get there, love you forever xxxx
