  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
my daps is acting very odd. He hasnt eaten alot of food today which is very very unlike him and he doesnt seem to want to come out of his cage, and hes usually very eager to come out.... and hardly any poops on his cage floor.

Do you think i need to take him to see a vet or could he just have a upset tummy??

thanks
tasha

Yeah I'd get him to the vets I'm afraid :( in the meantime, try tempting him with his favourite foods? Exercise is supposed to be good for getting tummies moving again too, if you can convince him to come out, and lots and lots of hay :)
Hope he picks up soon!

i dont think he can i did check the whole teddy as that was my first thought that maybe he had eatin the bear, but no. I have managed to convince him to come out of his cage, and he is now wondering around the living room, and nibbling although only a little of his hay.... will a vets visit wait until tomorrow, i dont want him to die on me or something cos i didnt take him tonight??
