  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Feeling his bones is right, you should be able to feel them, you shouldn't be able to see them. :) It was once said on here that their ribs should feel like a pack of pens. Spending lots of time eating hay is great :thumb:

Thank you that has put my mind to rest more, i think as he is slighter larger than the G'pigs, but weighs a lot less i was worried, although thinking about it, i shouldnt compair the two :oops:. def cant see bones, even when i smooth his fur right down

Did the Vet say what he/she thought the *cause* of the eye problem is ?

Injury/corneal ulcer ?

Tear duct infection ?

What is the name of the eye drops he has been prescribed ?

The name is Fucithalmic, OH has trimed some of the Fur around his eye, so not so messy.

Poor lil boy, must be so sore for him, We both feel now he is going to loose the eye, but from what the vet said on saturday, we have to wait 3 weeks to see if there is any improvement, Please dont think i want him to loose it, but 3 weeks in pain for a young bun (well any bun) is a long time.
