  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Never really seen a leftover cecatroph?

I've only ever seen 1 of Sox' cecatrophs, and he did eat it in the end. Is this a good or a bad thing? Does it mean he's not producing them or just that he's eating them all?

Thanks xx

It's a good thing. He must be eating them all as all rabbits produce them. They normally produce too many if their diet is wrong so you must be feeding him well

my matilda and gracie produce them, eat some and leave some! they are on the right diet tho :/ Matilda has an egg cup of pellets a day and like afew bits of spring grees and a slice of cucumber- she get a runy tum v easiely

and Baby gracie is on 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup in the evening as she is only 9 weeks so is still growing but will be cutting down as she hits 12-14 weeks

I haven't seen any since Smudge was last on baytril  which was January time.

Snoopy even ate his when he was on baytril.

You must be doing something right :) You can tell when they are eating them, they go digging head first down below, then you get a toffee eating face

Ooh okay, that's good then :D I thought I was doing something wrong or something was wrong with him or something

Thank you!! :D xx
