Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Panacur 28 day course

Loxxy

Alpha Buck
Sorry, I've been reading the posts to see if I can answer this myself, but am still a whee bit confused

Basically, is it recommended that you give your bunnies a 28 day course of Panacur to help prevent EC, regardless of whether they're showing signs of it?

If so, how often do you repeat this 28 day course?

Lastly, I gave Loxxy a 9 day course starting on 20 Sept because she appeared to have pinworm. Bearing this in mind, if it is recommended she has a 28 day course as above, when could I give her this?

Thanks for your help :bunny:

A one off 28 day course for all Pet Rabbits

Treatment NOT repeated unless clinical symptoms present :)

So if Loxxy has NEVER had a 28 day course he can have one

OK, thanks. I am more than likely to be booking a vet's appointment for Monday, and I will ask them their advice to be double sure before starting any course of Panacur.
