Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hi,
Nubbin has a hernia underneath her belly button.
the vet said to go back to get get it checked if it changes but should he not have done something about it when he figured out what it was?
im taking her for a check up on saturday because it got a teensy bit bigger but now its gone down in size again.
it gets to maybe the size of a small pea and then goes down to half that size.
anyone have any thought?
thanks
kelly xx

well she had an infected belly button which she was given antibiotics for. i asked if he thought maybe the infection had gone deeper but he said he really thinks its a hernia. the belly button infection hasnt totally cleared up after 2 antibiotic jabs so im going to ask him to give her a different one. i didnt think hernias would change in size that quickly :?

you can do for belly button infection treatment in case of belly button oozing discharge can be done by applying white vinegar. Alternatively, you can also use a mixture of baking powder and water. However, make sure you do not use both these remedies together.
