  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Spenser's plums ...

susie bun

Wise Old Thumper
... are tiny! They bear no resemblance at all to the plums or 'furry teabags' I've heard described on here, or on my very randy mini-lop friend. I noticed how small Spenser's manly parts were when he was at the vet for his myxi booster, and am wondering if this would mean he would be more at risk being neutered? :?

If they are descended then he is at no more risk depending their size. However, I would suspect that because he gets tense when being held, he is sucking them up and when relaxed and under GA they will most likely be there in their prime.

Maybe someone has a photo of bunny plums for you.!!
I think they look a bit flattend and empty:oops: though its a while since i saw any:lol::lol:

Ah, I see. He was certainly tense when the vet was having her nosey. They just looked like two little red stripes. Mr McFlurry lets it all hang out. I was actually beginning to wonder if Spenser didn't really have them, but I suppose the vet would have said so as he has 'buck entire' on his notes.

We thought Zero was a girl for ages because of his plum-sucking-in skills  and he was fine when he was neutered. As Sky-O says, as long as they are descended it makes no difference

Is he definitely a he? Its just I read somewhere that you said he shows no male hormonal behavior, unless I have you mixed up with someone else:oops:

Its just Feegal was awful, he used to pee in o/h face, perfect aim :)lol:) and nip. All was sorted when he was neutered.
