Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Myxomatosis Jab?

hellsdarkrose

Warren Veteran
Radish's jab is due on 29th March but because we are sending her for bonding with the new bun at the start of March I need to get it done ideally before she goes.

Would it be ok for her to have the jab early?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I am a worrier :oops:

I don't see any reason why it couldn't be early. If i was you i would just give the vet a bell and ask them if it would be ok. :)

I will do  just wanted to see if anyone on here knew first. I will give them a bell on Monday.

I'm just such a worrier when it comes to my bun

It will be fine :)

When we have rabbits coming in here we don't always know their vaccination status, and the vet said it wouldn't do any harm to get them done again just to make sure they are covered :)

Thanks Liz that's good to know. I think we use the same vets as well so I am sure there advice will be the same if I call.

I was going to swap to them but they never returned any of my calls so I gave up :(

Aww that's such a shame I can't believe they wouldn't return your calls. :(

As far as I can tell so far they are a decent vets practice. They seem to care about Radish and always ask how she is by name when I go in :D the vet also put "sweet little bunny rabbit" in the any other comments section on his computer after her first visit

We have used their out of hours service more than once and were very impressed. They seem to have some rabbit specialists at the bletchley branch. I did speak in length to the practice manager about what we do but after that she never returned our calls. I did try chasing it up but got no where and I'm not going to beg people to let us give them our money :?

I have never dealt with the Bletchley branch only the Walnut Tree branch which is where their hospital is. Sorry you had such a bad experience with them.

I have only been to Walnut tree too, never got as far as seeing anyone at Bletchley. They have a fantastic set up there so it is a real shame it didn't work out.
