Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hibby is unwell, been to vets but not 100% happy

Hello

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Got home this evening and noticed Hibbys eye looked very sore. On closer inspection she had a tiny bit of Hay in it, so I took it out and bathed her eye. I phoned the vet who said she wouldnt need to come in. Her eye looked very sore still but then I saw her fall over twice. So I took her straight to the vets who said she had a slightly raised temperature and she gave her some metacam and a shot of antibiotics. At the vets she still seemed unsteady on her feet but the vet felt she was fine. Just got home and she still seems very wobbly on her back end.

Does anyone know what this could be? I am so worried about her and do not know if she has recieved the correct treatment.

Sorry that Hibby is poorly

It sounds as though she has an infection as her temperature is raised. The antibiotic shot and Metacam should help. But she will need a full course of antibiotics so if you were not given a supply to administer over the next 7-10 days then you need to contact the Vet again in the morning.

Is she eating, drinking, pooing and weeing ?

Oh no :( Poor Hibby :( Ive no advice, hopefully the metacam will work soon for her. sending lots of vibes xxx
