  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Pipkin seems thin...

This bun causes me no end of worry
When he had his teeth troubles a couple of weeks ago I found out he had lost quite a bit of weight. That was assumed to be because of his teeth at the time but now I'm not so sure. He hasn't put any of it back on since his dental and if anything I think he feels thinner - I can even feel his spine.
I've started feeding him and Ruby seperately in case it's because she's stealing his food.
I'm also going to panacur the both of them just in case.

Think I'm going to try and get him a vet appointment early next week. Do you think this would be a good idea? Is there anything in particular I should ask them to do?

He's eating fine as far as I can tell and his poos seem normal. I don't understand it really, he seems fine!
Is there anything I can give him to help fatten him up? He's been having a bit of porridge every other day. Should I up his pellets or something?
