As we have only been bunny Mater and Pater for a short time, we have not yet had the issue of holidays yet. When my Mum goes away, she puts her cat in a cattery. What do you guys do with your buns? Has anyone ever used a.... erm.... 'bunnery'?

There are boarding places for bunnies I believe. Personally I leave them with my parents, if both me and my parents happen to go on holiday around the same time though, I can leave them with one of my brothers as he has 2 house bunnies; so he's fully aware of any requirements.

you do get people who specialise in looking after smaller animals :) Im putting neela to a lady who has owned and looked after rabbits for years, shes great :D
Its basically all about doing your research, you dont wanna be putting your bun to someone who knows squat about rabbits :(

If I'm just away for a weekend or so my very lovely mummy comes to my house (she lives in Birmingham and I live in London) to look after the fluffy monsters.

If its longer I either take them up to Birmingham to my mum or they go to a very very lovely bunny sitter - Claire and Doe Drop Inn http://www.doedropinn.co.uk/. Both are a fair drive away but the buns are good travellers and I wouldn't enjoy a holiday if I was worrying about the buns.

We get friends to pet/house sit. I like this best because the animals are happier at home & the house isn't empty.
Occasionally the dog goes in kennels as we found one that we trust but last week he came to the beach with us & the buns & cats had our friends staying to look after them.
There are no bunny boarding places here really either except an expensive place that takes multiple species & I won't want my buns stressed by that. But I guess it might be different if there was a boarding rabbitry I could trust.

Yep, we use a bunnery ... The Bunnery to be precise! See www.thebunnery.co.uk
I wouldn't let my lot holiday anywhere else :D

I take my two to Sunnydays bunny boarding in Maldon it's run by XMissySJX and when she's at Uni her mum takes over! When they were there in October Daisy went into stasis and Sarah-Janes mum knew the signs and rushed her straight to the vets! She saved my little Daisys life so it definately pays to makesure your furries are left with proper bunny carers :)

When i did a homecheck a few months ago, the lady said she uses a hotel for bunnies which i'm sure was over your way somewhere. It sounded very, very nice - the buns get their own ROOM with toys in!

Mine get packed off to my mums to be spoilt if we go away (which isn't very often)

I got details of bunny boarders in my area from the RWA & I've been using the same lovely lady every since.

A good idea is let your friends & family know where the bunnies are being boarded just in case anything happens.

daughter and i live two minutes apart, so if one of us is away the other goes round to care for bunnies. mum and dad are up the road, and in emergencies dad would take care of the rabbits. but i probably ought to research a local bunnery just in case.
