Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. My Bubble bunny is poorly :(

One of my old girls, Bubble has pneumonia :(

I noticed on sunday night her breathing was slightly more laboured than usual, and she did not want her dinner. She was diagnosed as having a large inoperable tumor in her abdomen 1 1/2yrs ago, so I figured she was maybe just having one of her off days as she ate some raisins and was drinking and pooing ok.

Last night her breathing was much the same but she ate, but I decided to make her a vets appointment to rule out infection. Her chest was found to be a bit weezy today when the vet saw her. Thankfully it isn't too bad.

She had an injection of Baytril and one of Metacam and has been sent home with some oral Baytril. She has been an outside bun all her life, but I have built her and Barni a nice cage inside now.

I am very worried about my girl, she will be 9 next month and she was my first bunny. I got her when she was only 12 weeks old. Her sister died 5 years ago, and her best friend Barni is so attached to her :(

Please could Bubble have some healing vibes :(

Lots of vibes for Bubble and hoping she feels better soon. I know how worrying these chest wheezes can be and am hoping she makes a good recovery. :)

Bubble seems quite bright this morning, and took her Baytril no problem. She is out in her run now with Barni enjoying some fresh grass. She didnt move around much overnight, but is hopping about quite happily this morning.

Her breathing is still quite laboured though. She is eating well so that is good!

Hope the Baytril and being inside helps. I would be careful about varying temperatures, living inside and putting outside in the run. Its quite cold in Oxford at the moment. Maybe someone else can advise you whether you should keep her inside for a while.

Raine, she only went out for a few hours this morning as the weather was quite nice and it wasn't too cold at all. I have both her and Barni in my bedroom and I have the radiator turned off so it stays quite cool, so there isn't too much of a temperature change.

Bubble has been an outside bunny all her life, this is the first time she has really spent time inside, so I want to keep her stress to a minimum as well as try and make sure she gets better.

Tonight she is looking a lot better, and has eaten really well, she is even up and hopping about more this evening.

Cerys :)
