It really depends on the size/breed.
I'd say 8-9 for an 'average' sized Bun.
Giants tend to have a shorter life-span, some people say that 5 is 'old' for a Conti :?
My oldest Bun was 13 and he was a Mini Lop. I also had a 10 year old Nethie and another Mini Lop of 11
I have never had a Rex live beyond the age of 8
