Marking territory at 9 weeks old?

Hi,

I have jut got an adorable 9 week old black mini lop, she's mostly litter trained, as in she urinates in her tray and does most of her droppings.

The problem is quite common but i cant find a common aqnswer,
she leaves her territorial droppings everywhere else she is allowed to roam, except in the kitchen where she is confined i'm not around.

I've set up an area for her that is her territory and trying not to let her see me clean it or go in there and disturb her, to show her this is her territory,
is this the best thing for me to do?

also, as she is only 8 weeks old, what should I be feeding her?
