  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

 our special needs bunny who has many problems seams to be fading away she had a fit last night and today she keeps dragging her self about and falling into a deep sleep i have called vet had they are going to see her asap, I dont want her in pain i dont understand she still have alot of life in her eyes

I really feel for you and can empathise with what you're going through having lost a special needs bun earlier this year.

Apart from sending positive vibes, the only thing advise I can say is that you know her, you know her character and whether she can fight longer, go on what the vet advises and what her eyes tell you.

It's hard but I went through a roller coaster of emotions with Flopsy, each time she had a bad day I thought that was it, but in her eyes there was always life .... one day there wasn't and I knew what I had to do.

Sorry, didn't mean to take over thread, just wanted to let you know there is someone else out there who knows how you feel x

thank you Rykat i really think she wants to fight, she is bright eyed and when i have her on my lap she licks me, dreading vet but i want to help her the best way we can
