Advice please, something in bunny's eye

Hi all,

Hiro has something floating around on his eye. It's dark and the size of a small grain of rice. He's had this thing floating around for about week now. I was hoping that it would fall off on it's own when he washes himself but it's still there. Sometimes it gets smaller, some days it's back to the same size. I've tried using a bit of water and cotton ball to wipe his eye but like all things with eyes his natural reaction is to close it before it touches his eyeball.

It doesn't seem to cause him any discomfort whatsoever but I'm just wondering what I can do about it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Just looks like a bit of sleep like we get. My bunnies get them all the time. I just get them out. Its fine - don't worry :D
 
It was probably a small piece of hay that got all gunky with his natural tears, it's happened to Deej plenty of times, sometimes, I can wipe or pick it out of his eye, some times I have to leave it but it's always been gone within the day.

Best thing it to try to avoid dusty hay etc, but buns, being buns they can so easily get any small bit stuck in their eye! :roll:


If it was causing any irritation, wetness or redness around the eye, I'd definitely take them to the vet (of course)!
