Smoky spay udate + few questions

Young Bun
Hi guys - just an update on smoky. She doing alot better. After she came back from vets she was alot brighter and has stayed in great form - v bouncy and cheeky!! But her appetite still not great, she is eating but only eating her fav foods, and small amounts and usually only when hand fed (though she did eat by herself last nite). She is not touching pellets at all, mostly greens and veg She is still pooing and peeing - but her poos are smaller and darker. . Is this normal behaviour after a spay?? This is 5 days after op - other than eating worry she in great form, doesnt look uncomfortable - very active. Any advice guys would help:?

Hello
Just logged on!!!:)
I had Honey spayed last Monday and was allowed to collect her on Tuesday.
She struggled for about 5-6days.

It sounds like Smoky is Doing well to me and very similar to Honey.
Honey had to go back to the vets on Thursday as she wasn't pooing very much (small and dark) and not eating hardly anything
I would say as long as she has pain relief, she should be back to normal within a day. If not, maybe just take her to the vets to make sure.

Honey is back to her normal self (as of yesterday) chewing the skirting boards and being cheeky) All poos are big and golden again!!!:lol:

Sorry if not much help, but sounds like smoky is doing o.k:)

that sounds exactly like smoky. v cheeky - i thought spaying was meant to improve her behaviour!! Its just that shes my first bunny and not sure what to expect - reading other blogs it kinda scared me in case it wasnt something more serious like that gut statsis thingy. thanks v much for replying - feel more at ease now

sory mama doe - can you tell me what the vet gave honey to make her go all golden again?? smokys poos are small and dark - do u think i should take her to the vet? She doesnt seem in pain - as i said she v bright and happy

Hello
I'm actually Jessica rabbit (Mama doe is because I've typed so many posts!!:lol::lol:)

The vet gave her pain releif and a gut stimulant (not sure what they are called though:oops::oops:)
The main thing that creates the golden poos is Hay, so try and cut down a bit on veg and pellets and increase the hay. Of course if she won;t eat it, then keep with the other stuff. She musn't starve!
Does she have a litter tray? Honey has a big one and in one end I give her Hay, so she can eat and poo at the same time!!!!

Good luck and keep me updated!!!:)

i was looking at ur thread and i swear it was exactly the same situation i was in - i was like thats me ,thats me!! ive never spent so much time checking for poos and peees and food intake. my dogs are so hardy compared to smoky. i feel the vets just chucked her out , and i really hadnt a clue what to expect, i would be lost without this site
