Is fur an indication of health?

Helenkj

Young Bun
Hi, I just wondered if anyone knew if a rabbits fur was an indication of how healthy they are? Its just that my two in the last week seem to have become really velvety and soft - I wondered if it was becaues I have moved them on to a better quality hay than they had before? Or is it just because its getting colder?!:)

A Buns coat can give some indication to their overall health
A dull 'staring' coat that may also show signs of mites (a white scaley dandruff) is a sure sign that all is not well.
It sounds as though your glossy two are in fine form !! :)

My baby netherland is a lovely bluey colour, however in the days it has got colder he seems to have darker patches appearing on his back!

could this be a sign of a thicker coat appearing, he is 9 months old and i got him from p@h on 12th sept :)
he lives in my garage with my older bun pickles, although they are not bonded as picks is a bully
