  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

It's called meta????? something!

How long does this take to maybe have an effective?

Bunnie had some as a precaution last night at vets about 5.30pm.:(

her hay eating virtually stopped overnight:cry:, but pellet and veg fine:), this evening she has just eaten some hay about 8 big long stands which is the most of hay she has eaten since 3am this morning,:p stilll not enough for us too think maybe she was just spooked by storm but enough for a glimmer of hope she is not going to get really poorly! :)

She is currently running around like a lunatic!:p

Vets tomorrow!

Will make sure they check her teeth!

Metoclopramide - was it injected or given orally? It works fairly quickly.

You don't mention whether the bunny is pooing? That's the most important thing - more important than the eating.

It was injected.

She is pooing fine , poos are a tiny weenie bit smaller due to lack of hay going in the other end!

Sounds like she's going to be fine tonight then, but yes, definitely get the teeth checked. :)
