Are rabbits ever cured from Syphilis? My rabbit has had an injection everyday for a week followed by two injections weekly for three weeks but his nose is still clogged up, though the blackness has gone. The vet has suggested another course of injections everyday but I am not sure this will work and it is starting to get expensive. Any suggestions minione.

I have had 2 Buns with Treponamatosis ( Rabbit Syphilis) and both responded well to weekly injections of Penicillin, one a week for 3 weeks. Neither Bun had a recurrence of symptoms although it is always possible that some Buns will

My two had syphyllis over the new year, had penicillin injections weekly, but 5weeks later it has returned so they are again on a 3week course of weekly penicillin. It is costing me a small fortune, I really really hope that it doesn't come back as poor Douglas has it on his genitals and Desmond on his little nose. Vet said it can come back, but as Jane says, it doesn't always come back
