Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

0.4ml(dose per kg of bun) × 2.5kg(bun weight) = 1

If that's correct ^ the 1ml of the dog liquid seems bang on to me. Is your vet rabbit savvy? If so I'd trust their judgement on dosage :)

The dose range for DOG Meloxicam (Metacam) is 0.2ml/kg - 0.4ml/kg So a 2.5kg Rabbit could have between 0.5ml up to 1 ml/24 hours. Rabbits excrete Meloxicam at a faster rate than other species and so they require a higher dose. Most Rabbit savvy Vets give 12 hourly doses to provide full 24 hour analgesic cover

Seems about right - My rabbit was initially given a 0.75ml dosage and he's approx 1.7kg. So for your 2.5kg rabbit that would be just slightly over 1ml.
