Adding New Rabbits

Hi,

After Christmas I'm getting a 7x5 shed with a permanent attached run which will be approx 8x5 and walk in height.

I currently have 2 boys who are 7 months old (we were told at pets at home they are brothers) they have both been castrated. I was hoping to get some more rabbits but I have a few questions as I'm new to owning rabbits and have never had experience with bonding.


1. Is the are big enough to hold 4 rabbits or just 3?
2. I'm hoping to get rescue rabbits, should I look for some of a similar age?
3. Would they bond better with more boys or girls?
4. I haven't got a spare set up for the other pair so would a rescue help with bonding before I take them home?

AW they are absolutely adorable! i'm not too sure about the rabbits size for the shed but make sure you have enough funds for vet bills and maintenance cost. It doesn't really matter what age they are but personally i'd go for a similar age as if you got an older rabbit and it passed away the younger ones would be quite upset. Ask your rescue for what type to bond with the ones you currently have, many rescue will bond the rabbits for you i think

They are very cute! As Julia25 said, I don't age matters a whole lot. I would assume they would be easier to bond with a spayed girl rather than another boy, even neutered boys don't always get along. I would imagine most rescues would be willing to help you with bonding, definitely have a chat to them and see what they think. Good luck!
