Failed rebond + injury

Wise Old Thumper
Everything was fine with Leo and Kerbie, Kerbie was constantly grooming Leo. But Leo seems to have these psychotic episodes and last night after yet another grooming session from Kerbie he just went for him again but this time he did the whole bite on the neck, flip over to his side and kick out etc. Kerbie didn't even retaliate, that's how friendly he is  and after checking Kerbie over he has some bloody bits, looked worse than it was but I cuddled him for a while and cleaned him up but we're off to the vets in a bit with them both.
I wanted to take him to the emergency vet but when my bf rang up it was the vet I loathe and is rubbish with rabbits even though he apparently specialises in them..

They've just been perfect but Leo can be such a bully, I really didn't like him last night. I know it is part and parcel with bonding, but afterwards, for about half an hour, Leo was just vicious. But then he was Leo again.. They were health checked before bonding by the vet and all were fine.. I just don't know what happened

They're back in their room now and both seem happy, I gave Kerbie another wash/wipe down this morning and all seems okay but still want the vet to check him over and to see if Leo's behaviour was because he feels off or something. I'll update when we get back.

Feel like such a failure

Really sorry :(

When he's all healed up, why don't you try Kerbie and Charley? Or was it Kerbie that Charley bit?

Aw I'm sorry about that but no you're not a failure, we can't always get bunnies to do what we want them to do!

I'm so sorry  you are not a failure, you tried it and the rest was up to them. Hugs xx

Yeah she kept going for him even thought it was Kerbie grooming her! My bf said he thinks we should get Charley and Kerbie friends of their own, Kerbie has a lot of love to give, we just need to find a rabbit that wants that love :(

The vet gave him a gut stimulant as he was slow on his food, but he's eaten like a monster since being home. We also have some painkiller if we think he needs it so that's good. His teeth are fine, heart/lungs sound fine. Same with Leo. Just don't get it, Leo just seemed to snap :? :(

Oh bless him :( My Nahla is just the same, there seems to be no reason for her aggression at all. I just can't risk trying to bond her again :(
