The Contis' new shed and run is finished! (Image Heavy)

Sam and Truffs

Mama Doe
The Contis rescued by Parsnipbun went into their new accommodation today. They seem happy - we even got some binkies for the first time. We still have a few little things to figure out, not least how to get them up to the loft storey, but we wanted to get them out of the chicken coop for the first time. I'm very pleased with it, it feels very sturdy.

Half way through

The guy who did it for me also blocked off the obvious escape routes in the garden, so if I'm brave enough they may be able to free range at some point. Since it took me about 20 mins to coax them into the shed from the run though, it won't be yet!

Wow

How did you get all that done so quickly!? I've been doing my new bunhouse for about 3 months now and it's still not finished

We paid someone! DH & I are utterly useless at DIY, we'd still have been doing it next year, and the buns urgently needed to get into somewhere bigger. It was a guy we've used for various different things before - he can do a bit of everything and was great at thinking up solutions for all the little problems I threw at him. I just had to make copious cups of tea. The shed was already there though, filled with stuff.
Oh and he fixed my back door lock too! :D

Be careful, they'll find a way of distracting you and escaping..... WUHAHAHA!!

Can he make one for my bunnehs?!

What a lovely set up... Bunny set-up envy is a horrible thing...

It looks fab! :thumb:

Thanks everyone. :)
Schez I did tell him he should set up a new business. Obviously he thinks I'm crazy doing this for rabbits, but he doesn't mind!

Now I just have to get them used to the cat flap. They appear to view it as a dangerous object at the moment.

Sorry I've only just realised I put this post in the wrong section. Feel free to move it mods.

What a glorious set up. The shed is a really pretty colour too.

Do you know how the roofing sheets are fixed to the wood?

Beautiful rabbits.

They have a special cylindrical plastic thingy (technical term) which was delivered at the same time from Travis Perkins. I think the screw goes through it and keeps it watertight.

Ok. I'll ask at our local builders merchants. Thanks (like the technical term btw)!

Wow thats fab , gonna have to show the OH cause the insulation idea and the run roof is exactly what im after for our 6 outsiders . Would love to hear how they get on with the cat flap as we've put one in but so far they cant work it out lol

They've definitely got the hang of the catflap already. They seem to prefer to be in the run to the shed, although I haven't found wee anywhere but in the litter trays, so they must be going in there for that, as well as to eat pellets. :thumb: We locked the cat flap last night so they couldn't get out of the shed, much to their disgust, but they didn't fall for the same trick tonight.

The guy who did it for me put ventilation holes in the door and a couple in the wall to the run, as the floor, walls and roof are insulated. He also made me shutters for the windows as rain covers, but I have to paint them yet.
