  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

You can’t make it up!

So Phillip’s much better and I was just giving him a brush when I found a gash on his head from where Britney pulled a chunk of fur out the other evening. Feel awful for not noticing sooner :(
Anyway just about to ring the vet when OH points out Britney’s eye is shut. I’ve had a rabbit with an ulcer before with the same symptom so rang the vet and they squeezed us in ASAP.

Phillip’s got treatment to apply on the top of his head plus a shaved area! Britney does indeed have an ulcer and has 2 weeks worth of eye drops. Honestly these rabbits, I thought pets were supposed to be calming

I’m sorry that both Philip and now Britney need some tlc. You deserve a little bit of calm waters to help balance things out. I hope that Britneys eye responds to the drops and Philips head wound heals quickly.
Big hugs to you and vibes to Philip and Britney. I hope things settle down. Xx

I hope they both get better. You are very tired right now. They are misbehaving, you are coping again. :D

Oh no, so sorry to hear this, glad you got them in at vets ok. Lots of vibes for both buns xxx

You thought that pets were calming  How long have you been a member of this forum

Sending lots of healing vibes to them both.
