Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My daughter brought home a wild rabbit with full blown myxi. Thankfully she didnt bring it into the living room where mine are & I knew what it was straight away. Vet had to put the little to sleep.

I've been reading on hear a lot about people going on about outbreaks, well i'm a Train Driver and see more wild life than most people and i'd just like to say that i see at least 5 Rabbits a day on the tracks with Myxomatosis, the main area being between Guildford and Redhill but saying that this area is littered in rabbits.

Myxi in Reading Berks

Not been on this site for a while, but just lost one of our three buns through Myxi. Just hoping the other 2 are okay.

Suggest that people keep a good close eye on their buns.

We live Reading, Berks.

Spoke today to a couple from the Leicester area and they had to have their 3rabbits pts yesterday because they'd contracted myxi.

Myxi is now in Wolverhampton! Areas Underhill, Featherstone, Bushbury and Wednesfielda are affected.
