Trimming up angoras/lionheads?

Im trimming her snout and round her eyes up atm myself but as per my should i complain thread, im very nervous of grooming her, ive also been given the number of a lady who specialises in grooming buns aswell so ill drop her a text to see how much she charges

Hmmmm....[scratches head thinking]
I didn't think you can pluck them unless they are true angora.

I thought you gently pulled on the moulting fur when you pluck an angora?
If so, you can do this with any rabbit.

This is the only way I really groom Teddy...I pluck the loose fur. He doesn't feel it and really enjoys his "stroke!" When I brush him he grabs the brush!

With Jemimah I haven't felt a need to cut her fur yet!

Lola hates loose hair plucking :-( especially from her back end...she likes bum rubs and strokes with a brush but loose hair puliing is a no no :(!!

With my other buns though they love loose hair plucking :love:

Seriously i am not kidding you about Avas fur she has masses of it. The parlour also suggested the other option was shaving..

I have 4 cashmires - 3 of them have really long fine fluffy hair. I trimmed all their hair off early in the summer and had to keep trimming regularly as well as grooming once a week. I'm keeping two clipped and have allowed 2 to regrow their hair over the winter. It's not a problem to do but one word of warning - you have to be ultra careful that you know where their skin is relative to the hair as it would be easy to cut them
