Peabody is Poorly [Update: POOS! Glorious poos!]

Wow! This morning it's like she's a totally different bunny to Thursday night! She greeted me at the door like every morning and snuffled around as I tided up their litter trays (even pawing at the gap between my pj bottoms and top when I knelt down, ha). And when I got out the fresh hay... she was so excited she had no idea what to do! She finally settled down and started munching, but when I left she followed me and then as I went downstairs I watched her binky all the way back down the hall and into the hay! I have only seen her binky once before (and only a little one). I think it's safe to say she's feeling a lot better!

I am home all day, so I can keep an eye on her and top up lots of fresh hay throughout the day. But it looks like she's on the mend, thanks to the vets advice (and medicine)!

Peabody seems back to normal now and suffering no ill effects from her short period of stasis, thank goodness. I am starting to think that over ingestion of fur may have been the issue, as were a few more 'daisy-chained' poos than normal following her recovery.

She is a crazy fluffy bun and while she hates being handled, I give her a full groom about every four days. I try to gently groom her in between those sessions, without handling her, but inevitably it never happens because she dashes away (not because she doesn't like being groomed, but because she's a shy and skittish bun when it's not on her terms). I don't really want to up the full grooming sessions, as I don't want to stress her out and she seems to be able to cope with it when it's only twice a week. But maybe because it's moulting time I'll need to try and do it more often for a short while (although I thought she'd been through the worst of her moult a couple of weeks ago, as she is looking decidedly less fluffy these days). Any thoughts or suggestions?

Glad Peabody is back to normal now..:thumb:

My bun has been going through the same thing since his dental 4 weeks ago...seems a spur was missed or hidden, and has caused him to not want to eat, so it is surprising how much pain a little spur can cause. Has Peabody had her molars checked under aneasthetic? Usually the vet can only see how bad the teeth are when under anaesthetic.

It's interesting that Peabody's poo output is the same as Pebbles...I thought it was fur causing the problem with "daisy chain" poos, but it seems it is gut slow down that causes it rather than the moulting. Also Pebbles hasn't been eating his ceacals either...now I know why!
