Hi, I'm just posting because we had bit of a scare with one of our buns last night. When we gave them their evening feed, we noticed one wasn't eating, and kept hiding in a corner. Our first thought was gut stasis (one of our other buns seems to be prone to gas and had a bout of stasis at the beginning of the year so we have infacol on permanent standby now!).
However, we noticed that she was also leaving spots of urine around. I gave her a bum check and it was damp with urine (not soaked) so we dried her off with a towel and separated her overnight from the other two so we could follow her toilet habits. We left some greens and a bowl of water out with her. This morning, all the food had gone, she had been to the toilet (but no urine) and her bum was dry, but slightly stained from last night. She has had a voracious appetite for hay today, got very excited for breakfast and her behaviour seems normal. It also looked like she passed a little urine in the litter tray this morning.
Is it possible that she was just spooked by fireworks and the upset caused this or is it more likely to be the beginning of something worse? Given the time of year and our proximity to a field we will have a lot of bangs overt the weekend
