  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Now it's Coco's turn.

Just a quick - and hopefully final - update to say that Coco appears to be back to normal now, yaay! She had her last dose of Fibreplex this morning and has been eating normally it seems and bounced around the garden too quite happily and although her output is smaller than normal, there's a fair amount of it so I'm pleased with that. I'm sure it'll increase in size in due course.

So it appears she has got over this a lot quicker than I expected as last time it took a full 5 days - this time it's been just 2 full days, which is excellent :)

Thank you for all of your good wishes, they are always well-received and much appreciated :) x

(going on past form, see you again in about a month, give or take a week, with Thumper :? !)

So glad to hear a quicker recovery this time Angie :D

Really hope you don't see any repeats in a month ... or even longer! x

Phew, glad to hear that Coco recovered quickly. Hope they both remain well now !

Pleased to hear that Coco is doing much better, really hope that continues. They can be such a worry can't they ? Xx

Thank you everyone x

Hopefully we won't get any more repeats, but sadly that's unlikely so for now we'll just enjoy them while they're healthy and then worry about then when they're not and do what we can when the time arises. That's all we can do, really.

They are a worry, Pets mum, I don't know why Thumper gets ill so often she even has the vet stumped as nothing shows in tests, x-rays, or anything. We've come to the conclusion it's just one of those things with her, sadly. Such is life I guess!

I think, like humans, some rabbits are just constitutionally better built than others. Some of mine sail through life without a care and others are always poorly
