Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Now Fern has a runny eye U/D Injection tips for 'stiff' penicillin??

Do you have a camera so you can watch what she is eating by herself? Fingers crossed she is starting to feel better. Sending lots more vibes and hugs xx

Yeah I was surprised she didn't have any effects from all the pain killer meds! She was really feisty at her late night syringe feed and was picking herbs up but throwing them whilst I was there. She is passing poop. When she was nervous when she first keep and to keep an eye on them newly bonded in the room we just left my partners iPad in recording as we don't have a camera but he's doing work on it all day, hopefully tonight he can put it in for a few hours to see what they're doing xx

Hopefully she will soon back to hoovering up food. Feisty is good. She’s definitely a strong character!

I think she maybe felt more comfortable as we took it in late after she'd had all meds/feeds, whereas other times we go in I think she knows it's time to be handled for something.

I'm so sorry Fern has been feeling so unwell she didn't want to eat. I'm glad she ate some kale last night, and I hope she's been eating more throughout today. Sending her so many vibes.

Well after the kale she's not been impressed over anything today, even dried herbs I'd ordered :( She's back at the specialist on Wednesday morning but not sure what else we can be doing!

I am wondering if her tongue hurts too, given the Actinobacillus found ? As would be the case for cattle and Goats etc ( Wooden Tongue)

Thank you for all the vibes. Re the tongue, possibly, it looks ok when the vet has looked in her mouth with the otoscope and when I'm syringe feeding but could still be painful. She doesn't seem to mind the syringe feeding and takes the full big supreme syringe each time.

But we do have some development!! It turns out she's eating during the night, my partner stays up crazy hours sometimes and when he gave her the kale it was 4am and she ate it. Then last night around 3.30am she ate more kale, dried herbs and dandelion!

Will try and set up camera so we can see in the crate where the litter trays are as before she was sick she didn't really use the hay sources out the trays much anyway so I want to see if she's eating hay/anything in the daytime. Would you cut down syringe feeds incase this is putting her off eating in the daytime? It's weird she refuses everything from us yet takes it at night, it's not a pain response as she gets the same meds 8am and 8pm. I think she's lost trust in us with the amount of handling we do in the daytime yet none at night apart from just after the op when we did a syringe feed around 2am.

Maybe give her a day of being as hands off as possible. Just handling her to give her her meds.

Sounds a good idea. I’m glad she is eating by herself, I think she must be eating at night whilst it’s perceived to be safe to be out and about?

What good news! Blossom too has worked out there are no enforced handling when the light is off in their room and hubby isn't wearing his 'bunny' (full of holes covered in critical care stains) jacket so is much more relaxed.

Maybe reduce the feeds? When eating starts I usually switch to just a couple of mls of critical care with meds just to make sure there's something in their stomach.

I load a few 1 ml syringes so its quite quick to do as well.
