  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nodular myxomatosis after Vaccine.

Thank you for your reply. I’m waiting at the vets as we speak. Bunny seems fine in himself but better be safe than sorry.

Thank you, he’s only 11 weeks old. He’s on Enrobactin. How long do the lesions keep appearing? I first noticed them on Tuesday 20/04 but he has developed one on his eye today. He had about 10 lesions from genitals / back/ ears/ nose and new one on his eye. He’s going back to the vets on Wednesday.

He’s very bright and eating well. Keeping a very close eye on him. I bought him on 7/4 he had his vaccine on 9/4. So it must be a reaction from the vaccine. My vet says he must of caught Myxomatosis just before having the vaccine. I have another rabbit who is 4 months but she had her vaccine end of February. They are in separate enclosures but could touch noses so have moved them apart just incase.
He’s sneezing a little but his lungs were clear yesterday.
