Hi. We have a Netherland dwarf who's usually very active and sassy.
We started dog sitting yesterday. She has seen the dog but we have kept them well apart. The dog isn't allowed in their room and we steer her away from outside the room if she's ever there.
This morning, I noticed that Thumper wouldn't take her Vitamin C (which she usually loves) and won't leave from under her wooden castle. She was hiding in the corner but has at least moved around different areas under the castle.
She did have an episode of diarrhoea on Friday, which the vet treated with fluids and one-off doses of gut motility medication and pain relief.
Looking back at footage from their room, she seemed as playful as usual until about an hour before I came in to spot clean and feed this morning.
The other half of her pair, Flint, is his usual self.
She did stomp more loudly than usual last night, which makes me wonder whether the dog staying with us is causing anxiety?
