  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My little Buttons is very ill, shes gone :(

Thanks guys, I am happy with her progress so far and I managed to inject her without any trauma, so that was also good. Wow rabbits really are difficult little things xx

So glad she's on the mend :)

They are very difficult little things that's for sure :( except Lilly who has always been simpler!

At some point during the night Buttons stopped eating, so I had her admitted this morning to have a gut stimulant and to be fed every hour. I've just received a phone call from the vet and Buttons has just passed away. RIP you funny feisty little fluff ball, love you forever xx

I'm really really sad to hear this :( sounds like Buttons and Logan were up against the same problem and it was just too much for them :( :( RIP Buttons, binky free x

So very sorry to hear your update. Try and take some comfort that you did everything you could - clearly a much loved member of the family. Hope Twinkle is ok. Take care xx

I'm so sorry. When I read this yesterday it sounded like she'd turned a corner.
RIP Buttons.
