  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

muscle wasting? UPDATE

he has given me pencaure? (cant spell) to start giving her anyway for at least 20 days.

I think i will get in touch with the insurance company to help pay for all of these tests.....costing a small fortune!

Well I have had Ellies urine dipped and no sign of glucose so the vet has also stated (as you have as well) that it was most likely due to stress.

He has stated that if all the blood tests come back negative and Ellie seems ok then he would suggest leaving it at that.

Yesterday Ellie played outside for most of the day!! Usually she plays for maybe 10 minutes then goes back to sleep.

Yesterday poor Gizmo was stuck inside as Ellie decided she wanted to run, jump and explore from 8am to about 6pm!! she didnt even go to sleep during this time!
She has also decided that she no longer wants me to touch her unless I have food...Oh well...it was too good to be true that she liked me again!

Im still giving her the med for EC until the blood titres come back..
