Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Keeping feet clean

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep bunny feet clean?

The bottom of Jessica's feet are white and they get so grubby after she has been in the garden. She does clean them herself a bit, but doesn't make much of an effort.

Hi Giant Jessica,

I've got a similar problem: My Jessica bun (who is all white) her bottom of her feet are blue at the mo!

No idea why or how they got like that - I'm just assuming its from the grass and the colour has diluted and turned blue?

How can we get them white again?

I'd like to know too!! my gorgeous bun is white and grey, but her feet are black where she has been in the kitchen on newspaper whilst she has been recovering from being spayed....

I don't want to bathe her or stress her out by attempting to clean them at the moment though...

Unless you're going to show your rabbits, I wouldn't bother cleaning them, grass is an awful stainer and it's what my vet uses to check animals are getting time outside.
