Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is my rabbits eye healing or getting worse?

New Kit
Hello everyone,

I am a new member but not new to having bunnies but have come across something new while being a bunny owner and would like some views and thoughts on my bunny’s eye.

So my bunny had very recently had a very small round White cloud form at the bottom of his left eye - took him to the vet - vet concluded possible trauma to the eye / hay scratch etc and prescribe antibiotic drops for his eye.

The white cloud in his eye is disappearing but now I see a small red line where the cloud used to be - is this a sign of healing or more stress to the eye?

Just wanted to get an idea of what you guys may think 😀 🐰

Thank you so much for any replies I really appreciate it.

Love from myself & Mr Bojangles 💕 🐰

Impossible to say without being able to see it. Some vascular appearance can occur during the healing process of a corneal ulcer. But if the problem is not trauma but something like Uveitis it is not normal. If you are concerned I would consult the Vet again :)

Hi welcome to the forum. I hope your bunny's eye heals up quickly, and yes I agree if in doubt I would call the vet for advice. Good luck, let us know how he is doing x
