How ridiculous! Yes, they do need somewhere they can snuggle and keep warm, which is why in our 6'x6' and 9'x6' enclosures they have a 3' hutch (D-B and Pippin have 2) to provide them with somewhere to snuggle.
I hasten to add that they have lots of snuggly places to go, but both pairs sleep on top of the hutches, or sit out in the weather.
I would not be at all comfortable with bunnies being permanently in a hutch. Even Sonny, our foster bunny, is now set up in the garage so that he can have a permanent run attached as we felt mean (even though he's in a double).
How can a bunny binky in a tiny hutch?
