Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How much pure bromelain tablet do you give a bun that is shedding a lot of fur?

My bun Bobby is shedding the normal amount of fur currently. However, his girlfriend Minnie is shedding a lot of fur, much more than Minnie normally shed in the past spring. And Bobby is now in a GI stasis, and I think it's caused by licking his own fur along w/ Minnie' fur.

I used to give them enzyme chew consists of Bromelain (60 mg) + Papain (450 mg), + Alpha-Amylase (30 mg) per week

But I am concern about furball build up, so tonight I bought this brand NOW Bromelian 2400 GDU or 415 mg, tablet form. Now, for an human the dosage is take 1 tablet daily or between meals.

For the above situation, would you do 1 tablet per day, or 1 tablet every 2 day, etc.? Also, supposedly I smash the tablet into powder, and mix it w/ juice. But it won't mix w/ juice, they stay separated, so how do you feed the powder to a bun?

Without consulting a vet, i wouldn't give it to a rabbit at all.

Fluids are the most important thing, so if you could do anything to increase fluid intake, that would be more beneficial and ensure they are eating as much hay as possible, to push it all through.

Vibes for Bobby to come through the GI issue.
