Hugo's There
Wise Old Thumper
Emmy-Lou joined us in March as a companion to Bertie after we lost Meredith.
She was a gorgeous bunny who loved a cuddle. Bertie was so happy the first time he saw her he couldn't stop binkying, poor Emmy was terrified
They settled down together immediately and started to enjoy married life
It became apparent early on that Emmy wasn't a well bunny, even after a much needed dental she still struggled to put on weight. We had to reinforce the food shed door because she would break into it so many times a day to steal food. Despite having 3 or 4 meals a day she was still not gaining the weight we wanted her too. After a bad bout of stasis we feared her cancer had spread and she was put on daily pain relief. It worked at first and she started to improve but in the last couple of weeks it became clear that she was struggling. On Thursday Emmy was in a great deal of pain and although she tried to continuing fighting we knew she needed to go to the bridge soon.
Today x-rays confirmed the cancer had spread to her stomach and lungs, so we let her pass peacefully to the bridge
We are so grateful to Kris who let us give Emmy a home in her final months. She was another wonderful Rainbow Rabbit who we are proud to have known. bertie will be lost with out her
Binky Free at the Bridge Emmy, you are such a special girl. xxxxx
Emmy when she first arrived
When Bertie and Emmy first met
You can see the weight had fallen off her here
Relaxing in the sunshine
Snuggled up with Bertie
