  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Had their RHD2 Vaccination this morning. I asked the Vet if they had had many RHD2 deaths but she said No but expects people haven't known why their rabbit had died.

:thumb: I’m glad they’ve had their injection, I hope they forgive you for taking them to the vet!

I am sure that there are numerous RHD2 deaths that do not get reported. Not many people seem to consult a Vet as to the cause of a sudden death

Glad you have had 2 of yours Vaccinated now x

Love their names tonibun :D

Yes, I don't think many deaths from RHD2 are being reported generally, and people probably wouldn't think to get a PM done because of cost or other reasons.

I hope they aren't suffering any side effects?

They seem ok atm but when Ihad Fiver RHD2'd he lost condition, poohs went small and he wasn't so enthusiastic about his food. I was really worried about him for nearly a week, but thankfully he is back to his normal self.

Virtually all vaccination reactions are pretty transient.
Glad they are OK :)

"I hate those meeces to pieces!"

I named the girl Pixie then when Mr Wiggles joined us I asked a friend if she could think of a better name and she came up with Dixie, saying something about a TV programme. I'd never heard of them.
