Can you help me? I'm a journalist writing a story about rabbits.

Hello,
I hope you don't mind me joining your group but I'm writing a story for a national newspaper about people buying rabbits on a whim over Easter (their own 'Easter Bunnies') then realising they've made a mistake before dumping the poor creature onto a rescue centre (or even straight into the wild).
One of the angles is about pet shops discounting rabbits over Easter to encourage sales - does anyone know of a pet shop that does this? Or has signs up saying things like 'buy a real Easter bunny'?
I'm also looking for a family who've adopted a rescued rabbit to appear in the paper.
You can email me on lorrainefisher@yahoo.com
As I said, I hope it's ok for me to post here - I just figured that if anyone had noticed dreadful shop practices, it would be members of this forum.
Thank you.
Lorraine

It's generally the smaller independents that would try that sort of sign - the big chains know they'd be an uproar.

There are also unscrupulous breeds that will breed rabbits ready to see for Easter - I've seen signs up near farms etc. before or small ads e.g. : http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/1204888-blue-pure-bred-male-mini-lop-for-sale-yeovil.html "Ready Easter weekend :)"

Have you come across the 'Make Mine Chocolate' campaign? http://www.makeminechocolate.org.uk/ They can probably put you in touch with some examples too.

Hello,
Yes, I've been in touch with the Make Mine Chocolate campaign. The idea of breeders breeding specifically is horrible - thanks for bringing my attention to it. And if any of your members know of any small independent shops with these types of discounts, I'd love to hear from them.
Thank you.
